The SPOOLOGIC SL-100-035 is a brand new, complete V2S compound twin-turbo set for 2008-2010 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks with the 6.4L Powerstroke. This set includes both the small front-mounted high pressure (HP) VGT and the large rear-mounted low pressure (LP) atmospheric turbo, both built with factory-spec cast compressor wheels, plus a full 6.4L Powerstroke turbo install gasket kit — everything needed to bolt the compound system back to stock in one box.
It’s the right choice when both turbos are due or both have failed at once — a common outcome on a high-mileage 6.4L, since the HP and LP units share duty cycles and tend to wear out around the same time. This is a true stock replacement set, not a performance upgrade: the goal is dependable factory drivability, not added power. Every SPOOLOGIC turbo is built brand new — never remanufactured — and backed by a 1-Year Limited Warranty.
6.4L V2S Compound Twin-Turbo System — How It Works
The 6.4L Powerstroke runs a sequential V2S compound twin-turbo system — the most complex factory turbo setup Ford ever put on a diesel. A small front-mounted high pressure (HP) variable-geometry turbo spools first for off-idle response, feeding compressed air into the inlet of a larger rear-mounted low pressure (LP) atmospheric turbo as boost builds. At higher RPM and load, the HP turbine backs off and acts more like a diffuser while the LP turbo takes over the bulk of the airflow. Both turbines run off the same exhaust stream, in reverse order from the compressor side — which is exactly why this set covers both halves together.
High Pressure Turbo (Front)
Factory-spec cast aluminum compressor wheel, the same OE-style geometry the 6.4L high pressure VGT left the factory with. Spools first for quick off-idle response and handles boost control through its variable vanes.
- Compressor inducer / exducer: 51.8mm / 74.1mm
- Turbine: 11-blade, variable geometry, new unison ring and vanes
- Material: cast aluminum, factory V2S high pressure spec
Low Pressure Turbo (Rear)
Factory-spec cast aluminum compressor wheel, the same OE-style geometry the 6.4L low pressure turbo left the factory with. Handles the bulk of the airflow under load and is the bigger of the two units.
- Compressor inducer / exducer: 64.5mm / 88mm
- Turbine: 10-blade, wastegated housing
- Material: cast aluminum, factory V2S low pressure spec
Upgraded Internals — Standard
Both turbos in this set are assembled with upgraded internal components that go beyond a basic factory-style replacement:
- Extreme duty journal bearings — premium bronze-alloy bearings machined to tighter tolerances with improved oil groove geometry, maintaining the precise oil film that keeps the turbo shaft centered at 100,000+ RPM — even under higher heat and shaft loads
- 360-degree thrust bearing — added strength and load capacity over the factory 270-degree bearing, better at handling boost-driven thrust loads
- Step gap seal rings — improved sealing performance, less blow-by past the CHRA
- High-speed VSR balancing — smooth, dependable operation and longer bearing life
6.4L Powerstroke — What You Need to Know
The 6.4L Powerstroke has its own well-known trouble spots, separate from the turbo hardware itself. The factory HP and LP units are failure-prone on their own — sticking VGT vanes, coked-up center section bearings, cracked turbine housings, and LP compressor wheels that disintegrate at higher mileage. But the engine side has issues too: cracked pistons at high mileage or high boost, and injectors that leak fuel into the oil — the source of the 6.4L’s known runaway risk. None of that is caused by the turbos, and the SL-100-035 does not fix it. This set restores the compound system to factory behavior; it is not a remedy for piston or injector-related engine issues. If your truck has high mileage or a history of oil dilution, have the engine side inspected before or during the turbo swap.

1-Year Limited Warranty
Every SPOOLOGIC turbocharger is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Warranty coverage requires that the units first be shipped back to SPOOLOGIC for inspection. If SPOOLOGIC determines the failure was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, the turbocharger will be repaired or replaced at SPOOLOGIC’s discretion. Warranty does not cover damage from foreign object debris, oil starvation, contaminated oil, extended oil change intervals, over-boosting, over-fueling, tuning beyond the turbo’s rated operating range, improper installation, use outside the listed fitment, cosmetic wear, coating discoloration, or normal heat cycling marks. Warranty does not cover labor, shipping, towing, downtime, or any other costs outside the turbocharger itself.
