New complete SPOOLOGIC Non-EBPV Turbo Pedestal assembly for early 1999 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke engines. This is the Non-EBPV style pedestal that eliminates the factory exhaust back pressure valve system — the EBPV bore is terminated and the internal oil passage that fed the EBPV actuator is blocked with a pre-installed terminator. This is a direct bolt-in replacement for a worn, leaking, or damaged pedestal, and it removes a common oil leak point and warm-up failure point from the 7.3L Powerstroke. This is the early 1999 variant with the pre-99.5 model-year hardware and connector configuration.

Symptoms of a Bad Turbo Pedestal

  • Oil leaks from the pedestal-to-block joint or the pedestal-to-turbo joint
  • Coolant weeping past hardened or cracked pedestal O-rings
  • EBPV stuck open or stuck closed — solenoid or actuator failure
  • Slow warm-up, cold-start smoke, or excessive cold-start noise
  • Cracked, corroded, or previously-repaired pedestal
  • Turbo bolt bosses stripped or pulled out of the pedestal

Why Delete the EBPV

The factory exhaust back pressure valve is a common failure point on the 7.3L Powerstroke. When the solenoid sticks or the actuator seizes, the truck will not warm up properly, will smoke on cold start, and can throw drivability codes. Rebuilding a factory EBPV pedestal means sourcing a matching solenoid, actuator, snap ring, and complete O-ring set — all parts that go bad together after 20+ years of valley heat. A Non-EBPV pedestal drops in as one bolt-in unit with the EBPV bore terminated and the internal oil passage blocked. No solenoid to fail, no actuator to seize, no snap ring to lose.

What's Included

  • 1 SPOOLOGIC Non-EBPV Turbo Pedestal
  • SPOOLOGIC Exhaust Back Pressure Valve Terminator (SL-610-004)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo to Pedestal Bolt Kit (SL-320-007)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo Pedestal To Block Bolt Kit (SL-320-004)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo Pedestal Yellow O-Rings (SL-310-001)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo Outlet to Spyder O-Ring (SL-310-002)

Materials & Construction

New aluminum pedestal body with the EBPV bore terminated at the factory, clean turbo mounting deck, and unstripped pedestal-to-block bolt bosses. Internal oil and coolant passages are machined to OE tolerances. Yellow Viton fluoroelastomer O-rings are rated for 400°F continuous service and hold up in the valley heat where nitrile would harden and crack. The EBPV terminator is installed at factory clocking with a fresh O-ring seal.

Install Notes

Replace all pedestal O-rings any time the pedestal is unbolted from the block or the turbo is unbolted from the pedestal — old O-rings will not re-seat. Torque pedestal-to-block bolts to Ford service manual spec (typically 30 ft-lb) in a cross pattern. Torque turbo-to-pedestal bolts to 18 ft-lb — do not exceed 25 ft-lb or you will pinch the O-rings and cause a leak. Cap or remove the OE EBPV harness connector — it is no longer used with the Non-EBPV pedestal.

Features

  • Complete bolt-in assembly — EBPV terminator pre-installed
  • New aluminum pedestal body — no stripped threads, no cracks, no re-sealed casting
  • Fresh yellow Viton O-rings and Viton outlet O-ring in the box
  • Eliminates the EBPV failure points — no solenoid, no actuator, no snap ring
  • Direct bolt-in fit — factory clocking, factory bolt pattern, factory turbo mount
