The SPOOLOGIC SL-340-008 is a brand new, direct drop-in Non-EBPV turbo pedestal service kit for early 1999 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks (engine build date 12/7/1998 and before) with the 7.3L Powerstroke. Everything you need to remove a leaking or cracked stock pedestal and rebuild the mounting surface end-to-end — SPOOLOGIC Non-EBPV pedestal, matching outlet plate, EBPV terminator, all fasteners, and O-rings — packaged as one part number so you don't hunt for what's missing on the driveway.

This is a true bolt-in fit, not a performance upgrade. It's the right kit for daily drivers, work and fleet trucks, tow rigs, and restoration builds where the pedestal is cracked, leaking, or you're already down there for another repair and want to refresh every wear item in one pass.

What This Kit Does

This is the complete base kit for a 7.3L EBPV-delete — everything you need to swap from an EBPV setup to a Non-EBPV setup in a single box: the pedestal with terminator, the Non-EBPV outlet plate, all fresh Viton O-rings, and all new hardware. Every part in this kit is a SPOOLOGIC-manufactured component built to OE tolerances or better — no mixed brands, no swap-meet parts, no OE cores.

Symptoms This Kit Fixes

  • Oil leaks from the pedestal-to-block joint or the pedestal-to-turbo joint
  • Coolant weeping past hardened or cracked pedestal O-rings
  • EBPV stuck open or stuck closed — solenoid or actuator failure
  • Slow warm-up, cold-start smoke, or excessive cold-start noise
  • Cracked, corroded, or previously-repaired pedestal
  • Turbo bolt bosses stripped or pulled out of the pedestal

Why Delete the EBPV

The factory exhaust back pressure valve is a common failure point on the 7.3L Powerstroke. When the solenoid sticks or the actuator seizes, the truck will not warm up properly, will smoke on cold start, and can throw drivability codes. This kit deletes the EBPV entirely — the pedestal ships with a pre-installed EBPV terminator that plugs the actuator bore and blocks the internal oil passage, and the outlet plate ships without a flap or actuator rod for a clean exhaust path. No solenoid to fail, no actuator to seize, no snap ring to lose.

What's Included

  • SPOOLOGIC Non-EBPV Turbo Pedestal (SL-340-005)
  • SPOOLOGIC Non-EBPV Turbo Outlet Plate (SL-370-004)
  • SPOOLOGIC M8 12-Point Outlet Plate Bolts x7
  • SPOOLOGIC Exhaust Back Pressure Valve Terminator (SL-610-004)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo to Pedestal Bolt Kit (SL-320-007)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo Pedestal To Block Bolt Kit (SL-320-004)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo Pedestal Yellow O-Rings (SL-310-001)
  • SPOOLOGIC Turbo Outlet to Spyder O-Ring (SL-310-002)

Materials & Construction

New aluminum pedestal body with the EBPV bore terminated at the factory, clean turbo mounting deck, and unstripped pedestal-to-block bolt bosses. New Non-EBPV outlet plate with no flap and no actuator rod — a clean exhaust path from the turbine housing to the downpipe. Yellow Viton fluoroelastomer O-rings are rated for 400°F continuous service. All hardware is new — no reused OE bolts.

Install Notes

Replace all pedestal O-rings any time the pedestal is unbolted from the block or the turbo is unbolted from the pedestal — old O-rings will not re-seat. Torque pedestal-to-block bolts to Ford service manual spec (typically 30 ft-lb) in a cross pattern. Torque turbo-to-pedestal bolts to 18 ft-lb — do not exceed 25 ft-lb or you will pinch the O-rings and cause a leak. The 99-03 outlet plate uses 7 M8 12-point bolts — an 8mm 12-point socket is required, the bolt heads sit in a shallow counterbore that will not accept a hex socket. Cap or remove the OE EBPV harness connector — it is no longer used with the Non-EBPV pedestal.

Features

  • Complete SPOOLOGIC-brand kit — every component built to OE tolerances or better
  • EBPV terminator pre-installed in the pedestal — no field assembly of the terminator
  • Non-EBPV outlet plate — no flap, no actuator rod, no restriction
  • Fresh yellow Viton O-rings and Viton outlet O-ring in the box
  • Eliminates the EBPV failure points — no solenoid, no actuator, no snap ring
  • Direct bolt-in fit — factory clocking, factory bolt pattern, factory turbo mount
