SPOOLOGIC Turbo Vane Position Sensor & Socket

The SPOOLOGIC SL-600-038 Turbo Vane Position Sensor and Socket Kit is designed for vane position sensor service on the listed 2004.5–2016 6.6L Duramax LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, and LGH applications. It pairs the replacement feedback sensor with the socket needed to service it.

Vane Position Feedback

This kit combines the feedback sensor with the tool used to service it. It is a practical choice when diagnosis has identified a sensor fault and a suitable socket is not already available. The VGT control solenoid and internal vane mechanism remain separate components.

⚠️ Early LLY Applications

Use the included electrical adapter where required on 2004.5–2005 Duramax LLY applications.

Common Vane Position Sensor Fault Codes

• P2563: Turbocharger boost-control position sensor performance.
• P2564 / P2565: Position sensor circuit low/high voltage.
• P003A: Turbocharger boost-control position exceeded its learning limit, where supported.

Code availability varies by model year and calibration. A stored code identifies a condition to diagnose; it does not prove the component has failed.

Diagnose Before Replacing

Compare commanded vane position with actual position on a capable scan tool. Check the sensor’s reference, low-reference, and signal circuits, including any adapter. A sticking vane mechanism, unison-ring wear, restricted oil supply, or faulty control solenoid can also cause a tracking or learning fault.

Installation Notes

Protect the sensor pigtail and keep debris out of the opening. Complete the applicable GM turbocharger vane position sensor learn after replacement and verify correct operation.
