The SPOOLOGIC SL-100-080 is a brand new, direct drop-in stock replacement turbocharger for 2003-2004 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 5.9L 24-Valve common rail Cummins built with the mechanical wastegate turbocharger. Built on the Holset HY35W platform — the same wastegated, fixed-geometry architecture as your factory turbo — matched to factory specifications so the truck runs the way it did the day it left the dealer.

The 5.9L common rail platform split into two different factory turbos across 2003-2007 — check the wastegate actuator on your factory turbo before ordering. No wiring connector plugged into the actuator means this SL-100-080 is the correct fitment for your 2003 through early 2004 truck. If there’s a wiring connector plugged into the actuator, your truck has the later electronic-wastegate HE351CW and needs SL-100-082 instead.

Mechanical Wastegate, Fixed-Geometry Architecture

The HY35W was the transitional turbo Dodge used before moving to the electronically-controlled HE351CW — boost is controlled purely by a mechanical wastegate actuator responding to boost pressure, with no ECM solenoid involved. The SL-100-080 matches that same mechanical-wastegate, fixed-geometry design as the factory unit. Bolt it on, hook up the oil lines and the boost reference line to the wastegate actuator, and the truck goes back to running factory power and factory boost.

Every SPOOLOGIC turbocharger is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Warranty coverage requires that the unit first be shipped back to SPOOLOGIC for inspection. If SPOOLOGIC determines the failure was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, the turbocharger will be repaired or replaced at SPOOLOGIC’s discretion. Warranty does not cover damage from foreign object debris, oil starvation, contaminated oil, extended oil change intervals, over-boosting, over-fueling, improper installation, use outside the listed fitment, cosmetic wear, or normal heat cycling marks. Warranty does not cover labor, shipping, towing, downtime, or any other costs outside the turbocharger itself.
