The SPOOLOGIC SL-100-011 is a brand-new, direct-fit drop-in Stock Plus GTP38 performance turbocharger for 1998–1999 Ford E-350, E-450, and E-550 Econoline models equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke. It combines a responsive 60/80/84mm 5+5 billet compressor wheel with the Econoline-style 1.15 A/R non-wastegated turbine housing, a Non-EBPV pedestal configuration, ceramic-coated hot-side components, and upgraded SPOOLOGIC internals for customers who want a mild step above the factory turbo without moving to a larger performance-turbo platform.
60/80/84mm 5+5 Billet Compressor Wheel
The SL-100-011 uses a SPOOLOGIC 5+5 billet aluminum compressor wheel measuring 60mm at the inducer, 80mm at the exducer, and 84mm at the extended tip. Five full-length main blades and five splitter blades increase compressor airflow capability while retaining responsive throttle characteristics for street-driven, commercial, towing, and work-van applications. The billet wheel is a mild airflow upgrade over the original cast compressor configuration rather than an oversized competition-style compressor. Its extended-tip profile increases the effective outer diameter of the compressor wheel while maintaining a stock-size 60mm inducer, helping provide a useful balance of airflow and response for a Stock Plus turbocharger.
- Inducer: 60mm
- Exducer: 80mm
- Extended-Tip Diameter: 84mm
- Blade Design: 5+5 — five main blades, five splitter blades
- Material: Billet aluminum
- Design Goal: Increased airflow with responsive throttle characteristics
Non-Wastegated 1.15 A/R Turbine Housing
The SL-100-011 uses the large 1.15 A/R non-wastegated GTP38 turbine-housing configuration found in the Econoline platform. Unlike the internally wastegated truck-style GTP38, this housing does not use a wastegate actuator, flapper, linkage, or exhaust-bypass passage. Exhaust entering the housing is directed through the turbine wheel before leaving the turbocharger.
The larger 1.15 A/R scroll provides greater turbine-side flow capacity than a smaller housing, helping reduce exhaust restriction as engine load and exhaust mass flow increase. That makes the configuration particularly well suited to the sustained-load operating conditions common in 7.3L Powerstroke Econoline vans.
Because this is the Econoline-style turbine configuration used for these applications, the SL-100-011 does not require the turbine-outlet conversion used when adapting this style of non-wastegated housing to an F-Series or Excursion exhaust system.
- A/R: 1.15
- Configuration: Non-wastegated fixed geometry
- Wastegate: None
- Application: Econoline-style GTP38 turbine configuration
- Primary Benefit: Increased turbine-side exhaust flow
Ceramic-Coated Turbine Housing & Center Section
The turbine housing and exterior center section receive a high-temperature ceramic coating. On the turbine housing, the coating acts as a thermal barrier that helps retain exhaust energy inside the hot side while reducing radiant heat transferred into the surrounding engine compartment.
This is especially useful in the confined Econoline engine compartment, where controlling radiant heat around intake components, wiring, hoses, and other nearby parts is beneficial. The coated center section also provides a durable finished surface and an additional thermal-barrier layer around the CHRA.
Non-EBPV Delete Pedestal
The SL-100-011 includes a SPOOLOGIC Non-EBPV turbo pedestal rather than retaining the factory exhaust back-pressure valve system. Removing the EBPV eliminates the valve assembly from the exhaust path and removes its actuator mechanism as a potential oil-leak and service point. A SPOOLOGIC EBPV terminator is included for the factory electrical connection after the valve system is removed, completing the Non-EBPV configuration without leaving the original EBPV circuit open.
Upgraded Internals — Standard
The SL-100-011 uses SPOOLOGIC’s upgraded conventional journal-bearing center-section components to improve durability, oil control, thrust-load capacity, and rotating-assembly stability compared with a basic factory-style rebuild.
- Extreme-duty journal bearings — Bronze-alloy bearings with updated oil-groove geometry
- 360-degree thrust bearing — Increased surface area for axial-load support
- Step-gap seal rings — Improved sealing and oil control
- High-speed VSR balancing — Balanced at high speed for smooth operation

1-Year Limited Warranty
Every SPOOLOGIC turbocharger is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Warranty coverage requires that the unit first be shipped back to SPOOLOGIC for inspection. If SPOOLOGIC determines the failure was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, the turbocharger will be repaired or replaced at SPOOLOGIC’s discretion. Warranty does not cover damage from foreign object debris, oil starvation, contaminated oil, extended oil change intervals, over-boosting, over-fueling, operation beyond the turbocharger’s intended operating range, improper installation, use outside the listed fitment, cosmetic wear, coating discoloration, or normal heat cycling marks. Warranty does not cover labor, shipping, towing, downtime, or any other costs outside the turbocharger itself.
