The SPOOLOGIC SL-340-006 is a brand new, direct drop-in stock replacement Non-EBPV turbo pedestal for 1999.5-2003 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks, 2000-2003 Ford E-350, E-450, and E-550 Econoline vans, and 2000-2003 Ford Excursions with the 7.3L Powerstroke. Built to factory Garrett GTP38 pedestal dimensions with the EBPV bore terminated at the factory — so the pedestal deletes the cold-start back-pressure valve system entirely while keeping the factory turbo mounting geometry.

This is a true bolt-in fit, not a performance upgrade. It's the right pedestal for daily drivers, work and fleet trucks, tow rigs, and restoration builds where the factory EBPV has failed, the pedestal is cracked or leaking, and the owner has decided to eliminate the EBPV system in one clean part swap.

What This Pedestal Does

The turbo pedestal mounts the turbo to the block and carries the oil and coolant passages that lubricate and cool the turbo bearings. The SL-340-006 replaces the EBPV solenoid, hydraulic actuator, and butterfly valve with a terminated bore — there's nothing left in the pedestal to fail. The turbo mounting deck, bolt pattern, and oil/coolant passages remain factory geometry, so the pedestal bolts in exactly where the original EBPV pedestal came out.

Why Delete the EBPV

The factory exhaust back pressure valve is a common failure point on the 7.3L Powerstroke. When the solenoid sticks or the actuator seizes, the truck will not warm up properly, will smoke on cold start, and can throw drivability codes. The SL-340-006 deletes the EBPV entirely — the pedestal ships with the actuator bore terminated at the factory, blocking the internal oil passage the actuator once used. No solenoid to fail, no actuator to seize, no snap ring to lose.

Materials & Construction

New aluminum pedestal body with the EBPV bore terminated at the factory, clean turbo mounting deck, and unstripped pedestal-to-block bolt bosses. Internal oil and coolant passages are machined to OE tolerances. Yellow Viton fluoroelastomer O-rings are rated for 400°F continuous service and hold up in the valley heat where nitrile would harden and crack. All hardware is new — no reused OE bolts.

Install Notes

Replace all pedestal O-rings any time the pedestal is unbolted from the block or the turbo is unbolted from the pedestal — old O-rings will not re-seat. Torque pedestal-to-block bolts to Ford service manual spec (typically 30 ft-lb) in a cross pattern. Torque turbo-to-pedestal bolts to 18 ft-lb — do not exceed 25 ft-lb or you will pinch the O-rings and cause a leak. Cap or remove the OE EBPV harness connector — it is no longer used with the Non-EBPV pedestal.

Every SPOOLOGIC turbo pedestal kit is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Warranty coverage requires that the unit first be shipped back to SPOOLOGIC for inspection. If SPOOLOGIC determines the failure was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, the turbo pedestal kit will be repaired or replaced at SPOOLOGIC’s discretion. Warranty does not cover labor, towing, downtime, consequential damages, failures caused by improper installation, failures caused by dirty or damaged mating surfaces, reuse of any included gasket, O-ring, or crush washer, or use outside the listed fitment.
