The SPOOLOGIC SL-600-039 VGT Tune-Up Kit — Vane Position Sensor and VGT Solenoid is designed for the listed 2004.5–2016 Chevrolet and GMC 6.6L Duramax LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, and LGH applications. It brings the turbo’s position-feedback sensor and separate oil-control solenoid together in one service package.

VGT Sensor and Solenoid Operation

The sensor reports vane position while the solenoid controls oil flow used to move the vane mechanism. This kit addresses those two service components together. It does not rebuild the turbocharger or renew worn vanes, a sticking unison ring, shaft bearings, or the engine’s oil supply.

Use the included electrical adapter where required on 2004.5–2005 Duramax LLY applications.

Common VGT Fault Codes

• P2563: Turbocharger boost-control position sensor performance.
• P2564 / P2565: Position sensor circuit low/high voltage.
• P003A: Turbocharger boost-control position exceeded its learning limit, where supported.
• P0045 / P0046: Turbo boost-control solenoid circuit/performance faults, where supported; diagnose separately from position-sensor faults.

Code availability varies by model year and calibration. A stored code identifies a condition to diagnose; it does not prove the component has failed.

Diagnose Before Replacing

Compare commanded vane position with actual position on a capable scan tool. Check the sensor’s reference, low-reference, and signal circuits, including any adapter. A sticking vane mechanism, unison-ring wear, restricted oil supply, or faulty control solenoid can also cause a tracking or learning fault. Inspect engine oil condition and the control-solenoid circuit before fitting both components; replacing both parts is not a substitute for diagnosing the cause.

Installation Notes

Protect the sensor pigtail and keep debris out of the opening. Complete the applicable GM turbocharger vane position sensor learn after replacement and verify correct operation. Follow the specified sealing procedure when installing the control solenoid.
