SPOOLOGIC Performance Turbo Cartridge CHRA

The SPOOLOGIC SL-200-083 is a brand-new, preassembled HE351CW turbocharger cartridge for 2004.5–2007 Dodge Ram 2500 3500 trucks equipped with the 5.9L Cummins common rail. This CHRA combines the SPOOLOGIC SL-220-079 7+7 5-axis CNC-machined billet aluminum compressor wheel, turbine shaft and wheel, upgraded journal bearings, a 360-degree thrust bearing, and step-gap seal rings. It arrives high-speed VSR balanced for installation into serviceable, compatible compressor and turbine housings. A turbo installation gasket kit is included.

This product contains the assembled turbocharger center section and the installation gasket kit. Reuse the original HE351CW compressor and turbine housings. Inspect them for cracks, wheel-contact damage, and other defects before assembly. The wastegate actuator and electronic wastegate control solenoid are not included.

Upgraded Internals — Standard

Each cartridge includes upgraded internal components for shaft support, axial loads, and oil control.

• 360-degree thrust bearing and collars: Provide full-circle thrust-bearing support for axial shaft loads
• Step-gap seal rings: Installed at the compressor and turbine ends to help control oil leakage

High-Speed VSR Balancing

The complete CHRA—including the compressor wheel, turbine shaft, bearings, thrust components, and seals—is assembled in the SPOOLOGIC center housing and high-speed VSR balanced before shipment. Keep the compressor wheel, shaft, and rotating components assembled during installation to preserve that balance. The supplied CHRA requires no internal rebuild before installation; the outer housings still require inspection, correct alignment, and proper assembly.

Installation Notes

• Match the cartridge to the original turbocharger identification, compressor housing, and turbine housing before disassembly.
• Inspect the housings, mounting surfaces, and oil passages. A new cartridge does not repair damaged housings or correct an unresolved oil-supply problem.
• Inspect the wastegate mechanism and actuator and the electronic wastegate control solenoid before reuse. Cartridge replacement does not repair a faulty boost-control component.
• Follow the applicable service procedures for cleaning, housing alignment and clocking, bolt tightening, oil-system preparation, and initial startup.
• Keep the rotating assembly intact. Do not loosen the compressor-wheel nut during housing installation.
• Verify free wheel rotation and check for oil, intake, and exhaust leaks before returning the vehicle to service.

Turbo Applications

Cartridge upgrade for the HE351CW turbocharger configuration used in the listed 5.9L Cummins application.

The HE351CW uses a wastegate with electronic boost-control regulation; it is not a variable-geometry turbocharger. This cartridge is not listed for the 6.7L Cummins HE351VE VGT application.
