The SPOOLOGIC Intake Manifold Spider SL-430-001 is a brand new, direct bolt-on intake manifold base for 1999.5-2003 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks and 2000-2003 Ford Excursions with the 7.3L Powerstroke. Engineered as the foundation of a complete intake upgrade — paired with the SPOOLOGIC SL-430-002 Intake Plenums, it forms a high-flow, color-matched intake system that outflows the factory unit by 18%.

The factory intake spider is a low-flow restriction point in an otherwise capable engine. SPOOLOGIC redesigned it from the ground up using MDV — Multi-Directional Vane technology to straighten and accelerate intake charge flow through the manifold, getting more air to each cylinder with less turbulence. Cast A356-T6 Aluminum Construction

The spider is cast from A356-T6 aluminum — a heat-treated aerospace-grade alloy chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio, dimensional stability under thermal cycling, and excellent machinability. The casting is significantly lighter than the factory unit and dissipates heat faster than the OEM material, helping keep intake charge temperatures lower under sustained boost.

MDV Multi-Directional Vane Technology

Internal vanes are cast directly into the spider geometry to direct and accelerate intake air flow at every junction. Instead of the chaotic, turbulent flow path of the factory design, MDV technology gives air a clean, directional route through the manifold — increasing velocity at each cylinder port and improving cylinder-to-cylinder distribution. The published flow improvement over the factory spider is 18%, which translates directly to:

The ports are positioned for clean access and come capped from the factory if you don't need them yet.

Color-Matched Finish Options

SL-430-001 is available in Raw, Black, and Red — matching the finish options on the SL-430-002 Plenums, SL-410-001 Intercooler Pipe Kit, and the SL-100-007 / SL-100-009 turbo compressor housings. Build out a fully color-matched intake side from the turbo to the cylinder heads.
