The SPOOLOGIC SL-510-024 Heavy Duty 304SS High-Flow Bellowed Up-Pipe Kit upgrades the exhaust path between the manifolds and turbocharger on 2007.5–2010 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups with the 6.6L Duramax LMM. The mandrel-bent stainless steel pipes and internally sleeved bellows reduce restriction to support quicker turbo response and lower exhaust gas temperatures under load. The passenger-side pipe retains the application-specific EGR connection. Both pipes, new flange gaskets, and 12 up-pipe mounting bolts are included.

Features

  • 304 stainless steel construction with mandrel-bent main tubing
  • 2-inch outside-diameter main tubing with a 0.120-inch wall (11-gauge)
  • Three-layer bellows with internal sleeves provide flexibility through repeated heat cycles
  • Larger, smoother exhaust passages reduce restriction and exhaust backpressure
  • Designed to support faster turbo response and lower exhaust gas temperatures
  • Welded mounting flanges and new gaskets seal the manifold and turbocharger connections
  • Supplied up-pipe mounting bolts for all four main flange connections

⚠️ Fitment Notes

For 2007.5–2010 LMM pickups with the original EGR cooler connection and turbocharger location. For 2007 trucks, confirm the new-body LMM configuration. The 2007 Classic LBZ uses a different passenger-side up-pipe and EGR connection. These pipes use the factory manifold connection locations. Verify compatibility before combining them with aftermarket manifolds or a relocated turbocharger.

Bellowed Up-Pipe Design

Up-pipes carry exhaust energy to the turbine before it exits through the downpipe. Smooth tubing and internally sleeved bellows help maintain an open flow path, while the flexible sections accommodate expansion and contraction. A sound seal at each flange helps keep exhaust energy available to drive the turbocharger. Performance changes depend on engine load, the rest of the exhaust system, and the condition of the pipes being replaced.

What's Included

  • 1 driver-side 304 stainless steel bellowed up-pipe
  • 1 passenger-side 304 stainless steel bellowed up-pipe with EGR connection
  • 1 Up-Pipe Gasket Kit (SL-310-029) — 2 lower manifold-side gaskets and 2 upper turbo-side gaskets
  • 1 up-pipe EGR connection gasket
  • 12 up-pipe flange bolts
  • 2 washers

Fitment

  • 2007.5–2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD 3500 HD — 6.6L Duramax LMM
  • 2007.5–2010 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 3500 HD — 6.6L Duramax LMM

Common Up-Pipe Leak Symptoms

  • Dry black soot around a bellow, weld, or flange
  • Ticking, puffing, or hissing exhaust noise, especially under load
  • Slower turbo spool-up, reduced boost, or reduced pulling power
  • Higher exhaust gas temperatures under comparable operating conditions

Inspect the exhaust and charge-air systems to locate the fault. These symptoms can also result from other leaks or turbocharger problems.

Installation Notes

  • Preparation: Work on a cold engine and follow the vehicle service procedure for access. Clean the mating faces and inspect the manifolds, turbocharger inlet, and supporting brackets.
  • Alignment: Start all connections loosely and align the pipes before final tightening.
  • Assembly: Fit new gaskets at each disturbed connection. Use the supplied up-pipe bolts and retain serviceable EGR connection fasteners where not supplied.
  • Tightening: Follow the specified torque and sequence for the application and hardware. Do not pull misaligned flanges together with the bolts or twist the bellows.
  • Leak check: Reinstall all removed brackets and heat shields, confirm clearance from wiring and hoses, and check for leaks. Inspect the connections again after a complete heat cycle and cool-down.
