The SPOOLOGIC Turbo Speed Sensor SL-600-072 is a brand new, direct-replacement turbocharger shaft speed sensor for 2007.5-2012 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7L Cummins; 2007.5-2012 Dodge Ram 3500 6.7L Cummins; 2007.5-2012 Dodge Ram 4500 6.7L Cummins; and other 6.7L Cummins platforms equipped with the factory Holset HE351VE VGT. It reports actual turbo shaft speed back to the ECM so the ECM can maintain closed-loop control of the variable-geometry vane assembly and protect the turbo from over-speed damage under every load and RPM. Plug-and-play into the factory engine harness — no re-programming, tuning, or piggyback module needed.
It’s the right turbo speed sensor for owners chasing down P2263, P0045, or turbo under-boost codes, sudden loss of boost under load, sluggish throttle response, or intermittent limp-mode events — the failure modes that almost always trace back to a failed or drifting factory speed sensor.
What the Turbo Speed Sensor Does on the 6.7L Cummins
The turbo speed sensor mounts to the compressor housing of the variable-geometry turbo and reads the shaft speed of the turbine in real time — the same reading the ECM uses to protect the turbo from over-speed damage. On the 6.7L Cummins, the ECM commands VGT vane position based in part on this feedback. When the sensor drifts or fails, the ECM loses closed-loop control of the turbo, drops into a default boost map, and posts P2263 or turbo-speed related codes. Sustained operation with a failed speed sensor can allow the turbo to over-speed and damage the shaft assembly.
Common 6.7L Cummins Turbo Speed Sensor Fault Codes
- P2263 — Turbocharger boost system performance. The ECM cannot resolve commanded boost against the turbo shaft speed reading.
- P0045 — Turbocharger boost control solenoid circuit. Often set alongside a failing speed sensor when the ECM loses closed-loop turbo control.
- P003A — Turbocharger boost control position not learned. The ECM cannot calibrate boost control without valid speed feedback.
- P0299 — Turbocharger under-boost condition. Frequently posted when the ECM commutes to a default boost map after losing speed feedback.
Symptoms of a Failing Turbo Speed Sensor
- Sudden loss of boost under load — ECM commuting to default boost map after losing shaft speed feedback
- Intermittent limp mode — signal dropouts forcing the ECM to protect the turbo
- Sluggish or laggy throttle response — ECM operating without closed-loop VGT control
- P2263 or P0045 codes that clear and return under sustained load
- Check engine light with any of the codes above
Built to OEM Specification
Every SPOOLOGIC turbo speed sensor is built to factory electrical and magnetic-signal specifications and pre-tested before shipment. Signal frequency response, pole geometry, and connector pinout match the original factory part — the ECM sees the same shaft-speed reference it’s calibrated for.

Electronic Component — Not Eligible for Return
Due to the sensitive nature of electronic components, this sensor is not eligible for return, refund, or exchange. Once an electronic sensor has been in a customer’s possession, its internal signal calibration and hot-wire element can be compromised by handling, static, or moisture — and we cannot verify or resell it as new. All electronic sensor sales are final. Defective parts and in-warranty failures are still covered under the 1-Year Limited Warranty above, subject to inspection and SPOOLOGIC’s discretion.

1-Year Limited Warranty
Every SPOOLOGIC Turbo Speed Sensor is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Warranty coverage requires that the unit first be shipped back to SPOOLOGIC for inspection. If SPOOLOGIC determines the failure was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, the sensor will be repaired or replaced at SPOOLOGIC’s discretion. Warranty does not cover damage from over-oiled aftermarket air filters, contaminated intake air, water ingestion, physical damage to the sensor element or housing, improper installation, incorrect wiring or connector damage, use outside the listed fitment, or cosmetic wear. Warranty does not cover labor, shipping, towing, downtime, or any other costs outside the sensor itself.
