SPOOLOGIC Turbo Speed Sensor

The SPOOLOGIC SL-600-072 Turbo Speed Sensor is designed for 2007.5–2012 Dodge Ram and Ram 6.7L Cummins turbocharger applications. It restores the turbocharger-speed sensing function when diagnosis identifies a failed sensor.

Turbo Speed Monitoring

The speed sensor measures turbocharger rotation. It does not measure vane position and is separate from the electronic VGT actuator. Keeping these functions distinct is essential: an actuator communication or vane-travel fault is not proof that the turbo speed sensor has failed.

Common Turbo Speed Sensor Fault Codes

• P2580: Turbocharger speed sensor circuit low.

Code availability varies by model year and calibration. A stored code does not prove the component has failed.

Diagnose Before Replacing

Inspect the sensor lead near the turbo for heat damage, abrasion, loose terminals, and contamination. Confirm that the scan-tool turbo-speed value responds appropriately and test the circuit with the correct diagram.

Installation Notes

Allow the turbocharger to cool and keep contamination out of the sensor opening. Use the matching sensor, seal, and fastening procedure for the installed turbo. Recheck speed data and stored faults after replacement; do not change actuator calibration merely because a speed sensor was replaced.
