Why You Replace the Feed Line — Not Just the Seals

Oil lines and their sealing hardware are not designed to be reused forever. Here’s what’s actually happening to the parts you’re tempted to put back:

• OE oil feed lines starve the turbo. The factory feed line lives at the top of the engine and carries pressurized oil to the turbo center cartridge. Internal scale, hardened rubber, and collapsed liners restrict flow over time — and once oil delivery drops, the turbo bearings and shaft eat themselves in seconds.
• Rubber jumper sections harden and split. Any flexible section on an OE feed line sees oil at 200°F+ and the vibration of the engine forever. Eventually the rubber goes brittle, cracks, and either weeps oil onto the exhaust or starves the turbo.
• Crimped ends and threaded fittings weep. The factory crimp and thread joints work themselves loose across thousands of heat cycles. A leak here dumps oil onto a hot turbo — smoke, mess, and the truck losing oil pressure.
• Crush washers, O-rings, and gaskets are single-use. Any sealing element that gets torqued down takes a permanent compression set the moment it’s installed. Reused seals leak — there is no way around it.

• Formed steel line body — the line is bent to OE geometry so it clears the surrounding components and drops into the factory brackets without modification.
• OE-spec sealing hardware — the included crush washers, O-rings, or gaskets are the correct material and durometer for the oil temperatures and pressures this line sees in service.
• Heat-treated steel bolts and fittings — every threaded fastener in the kit is the correct grade, length, and thread pitch for the port it goes into.

Install Notes

• Prime the turbo before cranking. Pre-fill the new feed line and the turbo center section with clean engine oil before starting the truck. Dry-starting a turbo eats the journal bearing on the first revolution.
• Clean the block-side and turbo-side mating surfaces with a lint-free rag before installing the new line. Old crush washer residue, coked oil, or scale will keep the new seals from sealing.
• Install fresh crush washers, O-rings, and gaskets every time. Everything in the sealing path is single-use. Reused seals will leak — there is no exception.
• Start all fittings by hand before torquing anything. Never let an impact touch a threaded oil-passage fitting.
• Follow the OE service manual torque specs for every joint. Over-torque cracks the housing or crushes the washers past their seal range; under-torque leaks.
• Inspect for oil leaks after a full heat cycle — run the truck to operating temp, shut it down, and check every fitting once cool.
