SPOOLOGIC Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor

The SPOOLOGIC SL-600-070 Mass Air Flow Sensor is designed for 2007.5–2018 Dodge Ram and Ram applications equipped with the 6.7L Cummins. It supplies the airflow feedback the engine controller uses to evaluate fresh-air delivery and air-system operation.

MAF Sensor Operation

The ECM compares fresh-airflow data with operating conditions and EGR demand. A MAF performance fault can be caused by a sensor problem, a leak or restriction, EGR behavior, or an application-specific software issue. Circuit testing and airflow diagnosis should guide the repair.

Common MAF Sensor Fault Codes

• P0101: MAF sensor circuit performance; measured airflow does not match the expected operating condition.
• P0102 / P0103: MAF circuit low/high input, where supported. Diagnose the circuit named in the vehicle’s service information.

Code availability varies by model year and calibration. A stored code identifies a condition to diagnose; it does not prove the component has failed.

Diagnose Before Replacing

Inspect the air filter, airbox seal, sensor connector, and intake ducting before replacement. Check for damaged terminals, wiring rub-through, oil contamination, and leaks downstream of the MAF. Compare live airflow with engine speed, load, boost, and EGR command instead of judging the sensor from a single idle reading. Review applicable factory software bulletins when the air path and wiring pass inspection; use only updates specified for the vehicle and calibration.

Installation Notes

Switch the ignition off before disconnecting the sensor. Keep the sensing element clean and untouched, install it in the correct airflow orientation, and seal the intake connections. After the repair, clear stored faults and complete any model-specific adaptation or verification procedure.
