SPOOLOGIC Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor

The SPOOLOGIC SL-600-074 Intake Air Temperature Sensor is designed for the listed 2007.5–2018 Dodge Ram and Ram applications with the 6.7L Cummins. This combined inlet air temperature and pressure sensor supplies temperature and barometric-pressure feedback from the air-cleaner assembly.

Inlet Air Temperature and Pressure Monitoring

The temperature and pressure signals help the engine controller evaluate inlet-air conditions. The pressure signal is used for barometric-pressure monitoring and comparison with other engine pressure sensors. This air-cleaner sensor has a different pressure range and installation location from the intake-manifold boost sensor.

Common Inlet Air Pressure Sensor Fault Codes

• P2227: Barometric pressure sensor rationality.
• P2228: Barometric pressure sensor circuit low.
• P2229: Barometric pressure sensor circuit high.

Code availability varies by model year and calibration. A stored code identifies a condition to diagnose; it does not prove the component has failed.

Diagnose Before Replacing

With the key on and engine off, compare inlet pressure with the other absolute-pressure readings using the vehicle’s factory tolerances. Inspect the reference supply, sensor ground, signal wiring, and connector before replacing the sensor. After a cold soak, check the inlet-air temperature reading for plausibility. Use the service procedure for the circuit identified by the vehicle’s fault code.

Installation Notes

Switch the ignition off before disconnecting the sensor. Match the original sensor’s location, connector, and part-number family. Keep the sensing ports clean, inspect the seal, and follow the specified mounting procedure. Verify plausible temperature and pressure readings after installation.
