SPOOLOGIC Heavy Duty 304SS High-Flow Bellowed Up-Pipe Kit

The SPOOLOGIC SL-510-008 Heavy Duty 304SS Bellowed Up-Pipe Kit replaces the driver-side and passenger-side exhaust up-pipes on 2008–2010 Ford F-250 F-350 F-450 F-550 Super Duty trucks with the 6.4L Powerstroke. The kit uses stainless steel tubing, bellowed sections, and welded flanges to carry exhaust from the manifolds to the turbocharger system. Both pipes are supplied with gaskets and mounting hardware.

Bellowed Up-Pipe Design

Up-pipes carry exhaust from the manifolds to the turbocharger system. Cracked bellows or leaking flange connections can release exhaust before it reaches the turbine, leaving soot and reducing turbo response. The bellowed sections accommodate expansion and contraction as the pipes heat and cool. Repairing a confirmed leak can restore lost performance; no fixed horsepower, fuel-economy, or exhaust-temperature improvement is guaranteed.

Common Up-Pipe Leak Symptoms

• Dry black soot around bellows, welds, or flange connections
• Ticking, hissing, or exhaust noise that becomes more noticeable under load
• Slower turbo response, reduced boost, or reduced pulling power

These symptoms call for an inspection, not an automatic up-pipe replacement. Check the exhaust connections and charge-air system to identify the source of the problem.

Installation Notes

• Preparation: Work on a cold engine and follow the applicable service procedure for access. Remove surrounding components only as required by that procedure.
• Inspection: Clean and inspect the mating surfaces, nearby exhaust components, and connections. Replace damaged fasteners and disturbed seals as required.
• Alignment: Align all connections loosely before tightening. Do not force the pipes or bellows into position.
• Final tightening: Follow the applicable service specifications for the connections and supplied hardware. Confirm clearance from wiring, hoses, and surrounding components.
• Leak check: Reinstall removed components and check for exhaust leaks. After the first drive and a complete cool-down, inspect the connections for fresh soot.

This SPOOLOGIC up-pipe kit carries a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the original purchase date. Contact SPOOLOGIC for return authorization before sending the product for inspection with dated proof of purchase. Approved claims are resolved through repair or replacement at SPOOLOGIC’s discretion. The customer is responsible for all warranty shipping charges. Improper installation, overtightened fasteners, incorrect applications, damage caused by other failed components, environmental corrosion, normal heat discoloration, and cosmetic wear are not covered.
